33rd Annual Show features tractors, implements, truck, cars, tool and engines, 25 years and older restored or un-restored are welcome. This year’s featured tractors are Minneapolis – Moline and Allis Chalmers. More than 200 tractors at the show. Model train and toy show, car sow, horse farming, Blue Grass shows, chain saw carving, saw mill, truck and tractor and antique tractor pulls, threshing and baling demonstrations, beekeeping display and a Sunday worship service. Donations of canned goods will support local food banks. See website for times event times. Grandstand and parking is free.
Half of all proceeds go to “Santa Jack Bailey.” Last year Jack provided more than 2,000 toys to children in need and has dedicated his life to this cause. Food, fun, entertainment, drawings, singing contest. Trophies for best engine, best paint, best interior, best truck, best of show, best work in progress, people’s choice, Slaw Dawg’s choice and coming the farthest. No entry fee. Bring your lawn chair and come take a step back in time!
This marks the third year for the project, which features McLean County area barns and farm buildings decorated with 8×8′ quilt squares painted on plywood. Activities will include local poets reading original poems about the barn quilts and the auction of 2×2′ painted wooden quilt squares. Guidebooks for the barn quilt sites will be available at noon. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored through the University of Illinois Extension in Livingston, McLean and Woodford Counties.
Join Gen-Air for a fly-in luncheon from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday at Gen-Air Park, 1650th St. off U.S. Hwy. 6W. Friday cruise the Hennepin Canal at Lock 24 off of Grange Road.
