Elva Mae’s sour cream drops

These cookies stay soft and cakelike. They are so good warm from the oven and freeze well too. You can use sprinkles or color the frosting to dress them up for Christmas cookie trays.
1 cup sugar
1 stick regular margarine
1 tsp each baking soda and baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Cream sugar and margarine til fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Stir dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture alternating with the sour cream until blended. Drop onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 until set but not brown. Remove to wire rack and frost with butter- cream frosting while still warm.
