Recipe passed down from a wonderful gal at church. This was a favorite at our bake sales.
1# butter room temp.
1 3/4 cup sugar
5 cups sifted flour
3/4# ground almonds
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 jar Smuckers Black Raspberry Jam
Put dry ingredients in large mixing bowl, cut in butter and add vanilla. Work together with hands until it forms solid dough. Let stand in refrigerator for awhile. Take dough and roll out thin. Using a donut hole cutter punch out small cookies. Bake 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet until very light brown. When slightly cool spread jam on one cookie and cover with another. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake them at 350 degree for 8-10 minutes.
