1/2 cup butter, 1 and 3/4 cup sugar, 3 beaten eggs, 3 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/3 cup warm water, 3 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp allspice, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp orange flavoring, 2 lbs dates chopped fine, 1/2 lb crystalized pineapple cut in small pieces, 1/2 lbs crystalized cherries cut in 1/4, 1 quart pecans chopped fine,
Mix butter and sugar.
Add baking soda water
add cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, salt, vanilla
Keep out 1/3 cup of flour to coat fruit.
Pour batter over fruit and mix with hands in large pan.
Put a pan of water in bottom of oven.
Drop by 1 tsp on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-15 minutes at 325 degrees.
