Christmas Creams Divinity
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1 or 2 egg whites
Boil until spins long thread, then pour over the beaten whites of egg.
I add walnuts or hickory nuts to the white divinity.
I add red food color to a batch and finely chopped maraschino cherries.
I add green food color to a batch and add pistachio nuts.
Drop by teaspoon quickly onto waxed paper to cool.
This was my Grandmother’s receipe and my Mother made it every year for Christmas and so did I.
