2 1/4 Cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 Cup softened butter or margarine
1 Cup sugar
2 Tblsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup finely cut dates
1/3 Cup maraschino cherries
2/3 Cup crushed corn flakes
18 maraschino cherries (cut into quarters)
1. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together and set aside.
2.Blend butter & sugar; add eggs and beat well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients together with nuts, dates and cherries. Mix well.
3.Shape dough into balls, using 1 level Tbsp dough for each. Roll balls in Kellogs Corn flake crumbs. Place on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with 1/4 maraschino cherry.
4. Bake at 375 degrees for approx 12 min or until lightly browned.

My mother says this recipe was on the Corn Flakes box when we were younger. We made the cookies at Christmas time and they were always one of my favorites.
