Walnut Butter Cut Outs

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (not margarine), 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 egg, 2 and 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup finely chopped walnuts.

Directions:

Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Stir flour, salt an baking powder together. Work into butter mixture gradually. Add vanilla and stir in walnuts. Chill about 1 hour. Roll out 1/8 inch thick on floured board. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter. Decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees about 8 minutes, just until edges start to brown. Makes six to seven dozen cookies.
