Ingredients

butter
softened

sugar

beaten

flour

cloves

teaspoon
Cinnamon

Salt

baking soda

teaspoon
baking powder

cup
applesauce
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Blend butter, sugar and egg.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to egg mixture alternately with applesauce using flour mixture first and last.
Grease cookie sheets or use parchment paper.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
Let sit on cookie sheet for 1 minute before removing to a cool rack.
If kept more than 2 days, store in refrigerator. Layer cookies for storage between pieces of waxed paper as cookies are moist and will stick together.
