Gourmet Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  • Cook mushrooms and onions in butter in saucepan until brown. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream. Set aside.
  • In large bowl combine remaining ingredients, mix thoroughly. Place 1/2 the beef mixture in a shallow baking dish and shape to form an oval base. Make a shallow well lengthwise down the center for the filling. Spoon mushroom mixture into well. Shape remaining beef mixture over filling.
  • Bake in preheated 350ºF oven for 1 hour. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing. Yield 6 servings.
