Onion Pie

Ingredients

Pie filling

  • 2 pounds onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper

Pie crust

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons shortening
  • 7/8 cup milk

Instructions

Filling

  • Cook onions in shortening until brown. Cool.
  • Beat egg.
  • Stir sour cream and seasonings mix in with onions.

Pie crust

  • Mix together ingredients and put in 10 inch pie pan, greased and floured.
  • Add onion mixture.
  • Bake at 450 oven for 30 minutes.
