Total Solar Eclipse Event at Bald Knob Cross of Peace
There has been a great amount of interest shown in our “spot on” location for the best viewing of this rare eclipse. We are working with the Solar Eclipse Committee and other area businesses on planning this incredible event but suffice it to say that Bald Knob Cross will be an extremely popular spot for viewing this phenomenon.
Eclipse enthusiast who attended the 2017 solar eclipse stated, “This was a once in a lifetime experience!” And to think we get the opportunity to see this again is incredible. The view atop Bald Knob Mountain will be unmatched. Unlike any other place in the entire region, we set at the highest point with no trees, buildings, or anything to obstruct our view of the sky.
We have a couple of different options for viewing. Serious Viewers will purchase a 10×10 space on our property. This will be the perfect spot for people with equipment like cameras and telescopes. The second option will be a Casual Viewer, they bring a chair or blanket and can sit anywhere they find a spot. Another amazing thing, children under the age of 15 come for only $5 per person. So, this is a very affordable way for families to experience this phenomenon.
Bald Knob Cross will have a full day of fun planned with music, food trucks and activities for children. You will not want to miss the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th, 2024.
Gates will open at 9 am. Plan on arriving by 10 am. A partial Eclipse should begin around 12:30 am with Totality at 2 pm. (All times are CST, Central Time Zone)
