Get out the Vote: Historic Campaign Memorabilia, Part 1 (Facebook Live Event)
BEYOND BUMPER STICKERS! Over the years, politicians have utilized a wide array of both traditional and unique promotional items – from bumper stickers, yard signs and buttons to just about anything you can stamp a candidate’s name on – to keep their name in front of voters. The ALPLM collection contains many such items with political campaign memorabilia from more than just Abraham Lincoln’s campaigns. We’ve got memorabilia from Ulysses S. Grant’s run for the top office and the many campaigns of the influential Stevenson family.
Please join ALPLM Illinois and Midwest Studies Historian Dr. Jacob K. Friefeld for a special Facebook LIVE! on Thursday, October 15 at 7pm Central Time from inside the Stevenson Room. You’ll not only get a sneak peek at this beautiful new addition to the Library, but Jake will offer a virtual “show and tell” of some of the political memorabilia items from our collection.
