Homemade Pink Cookies

Ingredients
Cookies:
- 3/4 cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 dash salt
Frosting:
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons milk
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Once combined, cover and chill for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 400 F. Roll out dough and use a circle cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8-12 minutes. Allow cookies to cool completely on cooling rack.
- Prepare frosting by stirring together powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. Add red food coloring until you get the desired pink color. Dip the tops of the cooled cookies in the frosting, let the excess drip off and let rest for several hours until the frosting hardens.
