mom’s sugar cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/4 cup milk
3 1/4 cup of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 salt
1 1/2 vanilla
frosting
1 T butter
1 tsp vanilla
powdered sugar
water enough to moisten and to thicken powdered sugar to desired consistsy
can also add flavors like peppermint
add few drops of food coloring if desire
Directions:
bake at 350 degrees till edges slightly brown
mix shortening and sugar till mixed add eggs, milk,
mix flour, baking powder, soda,salt
slowlly mix with liquids
add vanilla
spoon onto cookie sheet
they won’t look completely done but they are
they are a soft cookie
cool and frost
let frosting set before store them

I made these cookies since I was a child , It’s been afamily favorite . I made these for my son while he was little tike, only cookies he really likes to this day. now that he is married and has a son it is still his favorite. my daughter-in- law won’t make these cookies becouse won’t taste like mine, I told to do it and tell him I made them. they are easy to make and use basic ingr.
