Chocolate chip cookies in a jar

Ingredients:
In wide mouth quart jar layer 2 1/4 cups flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp baking soda,1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup sugar. Place 2cups chocolate chips in sandwich bag on top of dry ingredients and place lid on jar. Attach directions.
Directions:
Add to contents of jar except chocolate chips the following ingredients 2 eggs, 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/2 cup shortening,1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until brown. Makes about 6 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies. Jars can be decorated with ribbon, glitter etc. Attach recipe directions to the jar.
