Yum Yum Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 F.
  • In a medium bowl, cream butter with a hand mixer until soft. Add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.
  • In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
  • Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream into the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in the vanilla.
  • Pour half of the batter into a 9X9-inch baking pan. Cover with half of the topping. Pour remaining batter over the topping and sprinkle the rest of the nut mixture over the top.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, or until done.
