Fudge Nut Cookies

Ingredients:

1-1/3 cup butter
3-1/3 cup sugar
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
4 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
5-1/2 cup flour
1 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup nuts (optional)

Directions:

Mix well. Chill dough 2 hours. Roll the size of walnuts and roll in powdered sugar. Then roll a second time in powder sugar and they will look like snowballs. I use parchment paper on cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Check at 15 minutes. Oven temps may vary. Remove from cookie sheet and cool. This recipe makes 8-10 dozen so I usually half the recipe.

This recipe came from my kids great-great grandmother. We have been baking them since the early 70’s. My kids still ask for them at Christmas. I baked them for a cookie exchange at work at few years ago and had a couple co-workers ask for them the next Christmas.
