This recipe has been in the family for over 50 years. We make many batches of this recipe during the first week of December. Many times we add food coloring to the dough so that we have different colored Christmas shaped cookies. The entire family will sit around the table for hours frosting the cookies and adding sprinkles. This time allows us to talk and just spend time together. We freeze the cookies until we need them for parties or holiday meals.
