Lois’s Good Cookies

Ingredients:

1 Cup butter
1 Cup Crisco Oil
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup white sugar
3 1/2 Cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 Cup quick oatmeal
1 Cup Rice Krispies
1 Cup Chocolate chips

Directions:

In large bowl mix:buter, oil, brown sugar and white sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Add flour, salt, baking soda & cream of tartar. Stir in by hand the oatmeal, Rice Krispies and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls (I like to use the large cookie scoop from Pampered Chef). on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes until light brown on edges. Do not overbake! Also good with butterscotch chips in place of chocolate chips. Yields 6 dozen cookies. These freeze well.

This came from a relative of my husband in Minnesota several years ago. It has been a favorite with all family and friends, not only at Christmas but anytime. Everyone is surprised by the Rice Krispies!
