2015 Recipe Contest Submissions

Chocolate Balls


12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 egg whites
2 cups powdered sugar
3 cups crushed Ritz crackers
(crushed nut meats or powdered sugar for rolling balls in)


Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler, cool completely. Beat egg whites until very stiff. Gradually stir in the 2 cups of powdered sugar to egg whites. Add the crushed Ritz crackers to the egg white mixture. Then add the cooled, melted chocolate chips to the mixture. Let this mixture stand for 1 hour as it is very gooey to handle. Roll into balls and then roll the balls into the crushed nut meats or powdered sugar.
