Grandma Arlene’s Mississippi Mud Bars


2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
4 eggs
½ cup cocoa
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups flour
3 teaspoons water
1 cup nuts, broken
1/2 bag little marshmallows


Cream sugar, shortening and eggs
Add cocoa, salt, and flour, mix well.
Add water and nuts
Mix well and put in 9 x 13 parchment lined pan
Bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes.
Add ½ bag of miniature marshmallows to top, bake at 350 degrees for an additional 10 minutes.
