Cornflake Candy


1 cup sugar 4 cups cornflakes
1 cup light corn syrup 1 cup coconut
1/2 cup cream 1 cup chopped nuts (we prefer pecans)


Cook sugar, corn syrup and cream to soft ball stage. Combine cornflakes, coconut and nuts. Stir cooked mixture into dry mixture. Pour into a 9×9 inch buttered pan. Press down firmly. Let cool. Cut into squares.

Anything with coconut in it was a favorite of my Mom’s. The candy is simple to make and has great texture.
