Pineapple Cream Squares


3 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons white corn syrup
1 cup crushed pineapple and juice
2 teaspoons butter (not margarine)
24 regular size (not miniature) marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped


In heavy saucepan, cook sugar, syrup and crushed pineapple with juice together to soft ball stage over medium heat. Remove from heat; add butter, vanilla, marshmallows and pecans. Beat with spoon until creamy. Pour into buttered 10-inch pan. When cool, cut into small squares.
