2015 Recipe Contest Submissions

Bon Bons


1 C chocolate chips
1 large Hershey bar
1/2 stick parafin wax (parafin size 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 1/2″ thick)
2 sticks oleo, soft
6 C powdered sugar
3 C peanut butter
4 1/2 C Rice Krispies


Melt chocolate chips, Hershey bar, parafin in double boiler.
Measure Rice Krispies, then crush.
Combine oleo, powdered sugar, peanut butter and crushed Rice Krispies in large bowl. Work with hands until smooth.
Roll in balls (size of walnut), drop in melted chocolate with fork and put on wax paper to cool.

This is my parents’ recipe and is a favorite family tradition at Christmas time! We would all help make them early in December and then freeze until needed. We continued the tradition with our own family and now my grandkids have started making them and everyone still loves to eat them!
