Coney Dog
There are strong Coney Dog traditions in Tulsa, Okla., the Midwest and other locations along Route 66.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion finely diced and divided
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 cups water
- Salt to taste
- 6 all-beef hot dogs
- 6 buns
- Yellow mustard
Instructions
- In a pan over medium heat, brown beef and break up until crumbly. Drain fat.
- Add 1/2 cup diced onion, tomato paste, chili powder, paprika, cumin and water to the beef and simmer for 20 minutes, until thickened. Add salt, to taste.
- Grill or boil hot dogs.
- Place dog in bun, top with coney sauce, onions and mustard.
