Jan's Rich Banana Bread

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2-3 medium ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into butter mixture until smooth. Fold in sour cream and mashed bananas. Add nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until done.
