Rainy Day BBQ Pork Steaks

Ingredients
- Dry rub or seasoning of choice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 onion coarsely sliced
- 1/2 cup lager beer
- 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 F.
- In 2 1/2-quart rectangular baking dish, apply dry rub or your choice of seasoning to both sides of two pork steaks. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to each steak to coat.
- In a preheated nonstick skillet over medium heat, sear the steaks 3-5 minutes on each side along with onion. Return steaks to baking dish along with onion and juices from skillet.
- Pour 1/2 cup lager beer over steaks so they are in a shallow pool. Spread top of steaks with barbecue sauce.
- Cover dish tightly with foil and bake 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 280 F and bake another 30 minutes.
- Pork steaks are done when internal temperature reaches 165 F. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
