Grandma’s Never Fail Dumplings

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs beaten
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 2/3 cup lard or shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon celery seed optional
- 12 drops yellow food coloring optional
- 48 ounces chicken broth
- Shredded chicken optional
Instructions
- Beat eggs and add 3/4 cup broth.
- Mix flour and lard or shortening together.
- Add salt, pepper, celery seed, yellow food coloring and broth mixture. Mix well and roll really thin.
- Heat chicken broth to boiling. Add shredded chicken, if using. Drop dumplings into broth until done. Serve.

I have doubled the recipe and it works great. I like to double it and freeze half of the
