- 4 cups chopped or sliced cooking apples
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a shallow baking dish and add apples; sprinkle with salt. Mix sifted flour, cinnamon and sugar together and rub in butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and bake uncovered 45 minutes. Serve with or without cream.
