- 1 cup mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup milk
- Cook mushrooms and onions in butter in saucepan until brown. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream. Set aside.
- In large bowl combine remaining ingredients, mix thoroughly. Place 1/2 the beef mixture in a shallow baking dish and shape to form an oval base. Make a shallow well lengthwise down the center for the filling. Spoon mushroom mixture into well. Shape remaining beef mixture over filling.
- Bake in preheated 350ºF oven for 1 hour. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing. Yield 6 servings.
