Ham and Potato Corn Chowder

  • 3 tablespoons butter or cooking oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 carrots chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1-1/2 pounds potatoes diced
  • 8 ounces ham diced
  • 1 cup corn
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Heat butter or oil in large pot over medium-high heat. Add onions, carrots and celery and cook until tender.
  • Mix in flour and cook until flour is lightly browned.
  • Slowly stir in broth and add milk and potatoes. Bring to boil, reduce the heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  • Add ham and corn and cook until heated. Season with salt and pepper.
