Spring’s arrival brought more than green grass and flowers blooming. Lineworker training, a coordinated effort of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives and Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC), began with climbing school.
Students receive “hands-on” training in proper climbing techniques, the use and care of fall arrest systems, practice pole top rescue, and learn the basics required to move on in linework training.
The school is accredited through LLCC and can be applied toward an electrical distribution certificate of personal development, associate in general education or associate in applied science degrees. It is also recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor – Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
