Norris Electric helps local business through REDLG loan

Norris Electric Cooperative, Newton, partnered with local business SKS USA and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to revitalize and expand a 16,000-square-foot warehouse space in Olney. An additional 7,500 square feet will be added to accommodate more offices and warehouse space for the company.

SKS USA is a wholly-owned USA subsidiary of SKS Germany and responsible for sales, marketing, warehousing and distribution exclusively for the North American market. Owned by resident Mark Burgener, it started with 10 employees and has expanded to 14 with expected continued growth.

The Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) program provides funding for rural projects through local utility organizations. USDA provides zero-interest loans to rural utilities which are passed through to local businesses for projects that will create and retain employment in rural areas.
